Suites

I decided 10 years ago that there was a need for a cattery that actually met the needs for caring and concerned owners of cats.

At the time ‘good’ catteries were hard to find, if not impossible, so I decided to design a cattery that offered what I would like for my own cats.

I invite you to come in and see ‘The Cats Whiskers of Wychbold’.

I only have 14 pens, I look after all the cats myself, and that way I build a strong bond with all the cats and I know them all individually.

All cats that come to stay with me get loved and groomed if they wish. Sometimes they wish to be left quiet and just spoken to kindly. Guests require different care, and I am always happy to adapt and just to make sure their holiday is as comfortable and relaxing as it possibly could be.

All my pens are actually called suites, They are luxury rooms all made out as a nursery, they are painted and have a neat picture in each room, the floors have lino, and the beds stand on a table. The cats are then able to sit up in bed and look out of the window.

The pens are heated with infrared heaters, which are all thermostatically controlled. The pens are all very strong, safe structures made of brick, then fully lined and insulated and the insides have wooden walls that are painted.

The sizes are approx 5ft X 5ft and 6ft high walk in pens. Each pen has a run which is 4ft wide by 6ft high, the floor run is a marble floor so cleaning is thorough and easy, and in summer it is cool. My pen runs are all very thick, strong, galvanised metal. The whole cattery is a very strong and sound structure, but still retains a softness to it, as you can see by the pictures.

I supply all bedding that is always clean and changed regularly during the stay. I feed the same diet that your cat is used to, and I supply the food too. Unless it is a prescription diet, then you need to supply it.

I do happily look after all needs of cats, that means give tablets, apply any creams, administer any medications in any form, and I will inject diabetic cats, however, they do have to be stable. I groom but I do prefer it if you bring your own brush’s and combs. If a cat comes to me with many knots then I will not upset it trying to remove them, my main thoughts will be to keep the cat happy and relaxed whilst the owner is away, but if your cat enjoys being groomed then I will be happy to groom it.
